Course Description
This course will teach you to add depth and interest to any engraving through the use of three-dimensional sculpted scrolls and scenes. We will also cover basic inlay techniques to create attention-grabbing colored accents and value to your work. All aspects of sculpting metal will be covered from tool shaping to metal finishes.

Course Objectives
  • Design scrolls and scenes for projects
  • Design and create multiple levels to establish dimension and added depth to your work
  • In-depth sculpting instruction
  • Make and use special tools and gravers, customize flat gravers for relief & punches for sculpting
  • Multiple metal inlay techniques
  • Multi-colored inlay (gold and silver)
  • Shading scroll inlay to create multi-colored accents

Prerequisites
Completion of a GRS Basic Metal Engraving course or instructor approval is required, as well as an understanding of proper tool sharpening and use of pneumatic engraving equipment.
